AirAsia, the low-coast Malaysian Airline will add more flights to Seoul’s Incheon International Airport later this year. Operated by the airline’s long-haul unit, AirAsia X, the flights to Seoul from Kuala Lumpur is currently flown daily using the Airbus A330-300 aircraft. From 2nd July 2014, the airline will add four extra weekly flights to Seoul taking the total frequency to 11 flights per week. From 2nd December 2014, AirAsiaX will start operating a double daily KL-Seoul service.
According to AirAsiaX’s CEO, Azran Osman-Rani , since the beginning of airlines operations in Korea in 2010, it has carried over a half million passengers on its Korean routes with an average of 83%passenger load. He further added that AirAsiaX will remain committed to Korea as it is one of the core markets in Asia and Pacific region. In addition to Seoul, AirAsiaX currently operates four weekly flights to Busan.
