Swiss International Airlines has launched its new daily non-stop flights to Singapore, yesterday evening with the departure of first eastbound LX 178 flights operated by an Airbus A340-300 aircraft from Zurich. The new route had previously been formally inaugurated at departure gate by SWISS CEO, Harry Hohmeister and Thomas Kupfer, Switzerland’s ambassador to Singapore. The new destination –its eighth in the region further strengthens SWISS’s position in the rapidly growing Asian Market.
This new link further enhances ties between the two strong business and financial centers in Europe and Southeast Asia and provides convenient flight connections for travellers to Europe and beyond. SWISS, the national airline of Switzerland, now connects Singapore and Zurich seven times a week. Operated with A340-300 equipment seating 219 passengers in a three-class cabin configuration are fitted with the company’s state-of-art Business class cabin, with adjustable air-cushion seat which converts into a two-meter-long-lie-flat bed offers customers optimum comfort aloft.

SWISS’ flight LX 179 departs from Singapore at 23:10 and arrives in Zurich at 06:10 the following day. The eastbound LX 178 service leaves Zurich at 22:45 and lands in Singapore at 17:15 the next day
