Fiji’s flag carrier Air Pacific which has recently introduced Airbus A330 in its fleet commenced first commercial flight to New Zealand with new airbus. This flight provides a sneak peek to plane enthusiasts in airline's revived branding.
The airbus that costs $240 million, landed at Auckland International Airport at about 1pm. Previously the A 33 had flown to Nadi.
Airline’’ chief executive Dave Pflieger stated that sneak preview flight reasserts that New Zealand was one of the most valuable markets for the airline.
He further said that Air Pacific carries tens of thousands of New Zealanders and Fijian nationals every year. Air pacific is all set to be rebranded as Fiji Airways in June 2013.
The rebranding is a part of airline’s turnaround plan of the Fiji’s national carrier. The new look is authentic, distinctive and true that represents country’s culture and heritage, Pflieger said.
