Air Namibia, the national airline of Namibia has announced additional flights on Windhoek-Ondangwa route and the regional route between Windhoek and Johannesburg due to increase in customer demand. The airline will add additional flights to Ondangwa on Tuesday and Thursday. This means that the airline will have three flights per day on these specific days each week, while continuing operating two flights per day on the other days of the week.
The sector between Windhoek and Ondangwa has proved to be the fastest growing route on the entire network. According to airline sources, during the past years especially in the beginning of 2011, Air Namibia offered 532 seats per week for the Eros- Ondangwa route but the seats on the route was increased to 1036 per week from February 2011, representing the tremendous increase of 94%. With this latest capacity increase, the total seats offered will increase to 1,184, representing a 14% increase.
On the Johannesburg route, the frequencies will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays bringing the total number of flights on these days to three per week. This slot will be ideal for business travellers and the new rotation will offer clients an option for late departure out of Johannesburg.
