The Florida-based carrier, Spirit Airlines has broadcasted that it will be operating nonstop flights to Chicago from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. Chicago will be the 3rd nonstop destination of the airline from the east Mesa airport.
Spirit Airlines has introduced service to Las Vegas in February and Dallas in March. The flight to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport will take to the air at 1:55 a.m. and would touch down at 6:15 a.m. in Chicago. The airline will depart Chicago at 9:45 p.m. and will make its way back to Phoenix at 12:40 a.m.
This expansion has proved to be a major step in the evolution of the Gateway that has catered to mostly small segment markets.
US Airways, Southwest, American and United already offer nonstop flights between Phoenix Sky Harbour International Airport and Chicago. The stated airlines serve O’Hare except for Southwest that flies into Midway International Airport.
