KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, the flag carrier airline of the Netherlands, has announced that it will introduce scheduled flights to Fukuoka. The operations will start with effect from 3rd April, 2013. The Dutch airline is the first airline to offer its customers nonstop flights between the Japanese city and Europe.
After Tokyo and Osaka, Fukuoka is the third destination of KLM in Japan.
The airline’s Chief Operating Officer, Pieter Elbers said, “With this new destination, Japanese passengers will gain an access to the Dutch capital and other European destinations other than Amsterdam.”
With this new addition of starting the flights to the Japanese city, it indicates an expansion of the KLM’s network between Japan and the Netherlands.
The new service to be launched will be operated thrice a week. Flight KL869 will leave from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
