San Francisco International Airport is on the verge of acquiring a new air traffic control tower that will immensely reduce flight delays.
Various officials who attended the ground breaking on Monday for the new tower were the U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee.
All the flights to San Francisco would now be more smoothly eased by the new tower.
The new air traffic control tower would be replaced by nearly 30-year old seismically control tower at the airport with a technologically advanced one that would lessen the flight delays to a great extent and also, it would help the passengers reaching their destinations in less time.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said, “The Golden Gate Bridge helps us recall that infrastructure is the preeminent gift that we can pass onto the next generation. This certainly will be the next generation tower.”
The airport officials claim that the $102 million project will provide tremendous employment opportunities.
