Flydubai, which is a low-priced airline, has decided to launch four-times weekly flights to Basra that will be operating on 8th August, 2012. This will be the new Iraqi destination added by the airline to its network.
The new destination of Basra has joined the Iraqi capital along with Najaf, Sulaimaniyah and Erbil. The five regions are one of the most complete networks to Iraq.
Flydubai’s chief executive, Ghaith Al Ghaith said,”We identified Iraq as one of our prime markets in 2010 when the flights to Erbil and Sulaimaniyah were launched.”
He further added, “We hope that the expansion of our network will promote travel between UAE and Iraq.”
Basra is the principal port of Iraq that helps shipping and logistics and transport develop into prime industries.
