India will negotiate with Abu Dhabi to get additional seat entitlements; the increased seat entitlements will enable Jet Airways and Etihad Airways to add more flights to Abu Dhabi.
Indian Civil aviation minister Ajit Singh, on Sunday, said that seat entitlements on both sides were full and the ministry will negotiate for additional traffic rights.
He further said that nothing can be said until an agreement is reached. The two airlines are negotiating a stake sale deal that will enable Etihad to pick up 24 percent in Jet Airways.
The civil aviation minister side stepped the question regarding whether the move will favour Abu Dhabi's hub development prospects. He said even Indian airliners need the chance to increase their international flight operations.
