Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe has announced a new route from London Luton to Romania’s Sibiu airport. Flights to Sibiu will commence on 14th June 2014 and will initially operate twice a week on Tuesday and Saturday. With this new route Sibiu will become the sixth Romanian airport to be served by Wizz Air.
According to the company’s statement, in 2013, Wizz Air had a 14 percent increase in traffic in Romania and considering the recent development in the network of routes, there are premises for this growth to continue. Currently the airline operates a fleet of 45 Airbus A320 aircrafts from 19 bases, over 300 routes linking 90 destinations in 35 countries.
