TransAsia Airways, a small carrier in Taiwan is all set to launch direct flights to Tokyo from Sept. 26.
With the launch of direct flights from Taipei to Tokyo the airline is trying to capitalize on the rising interest of Taiwanese in travel to Japan. Due to a weakening Yen a large number of tourists are interested in travelling to Japan.
The airline is planning to operate one roundtrip flight to Tokyo using Airbus A320 or A321 jets.
With the introduction of flights the airline will be third air carrier to offer direct flights between Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and Tokyo's Narita Airport. Currently China Airlines and EVA Airways are offering direct flights to Tokyo.
With the launch of Tokyo route the airline will be adding ninth destination in Japan.
