Majestic Boeing 787 dreamliner was welcomed at Abu Dhabi International Airport by Etihad Airways. The UAE capital has experienced the first visit of the revolutionary composite aircraft on its soil.
The historic BOE787 flight touched down at 7:05PM local time on Wednesday June 6 and traditional water cannon salute was given to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner when it touched down at the Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Visitors were fortunate enough to experience the aircraft’s ground-breaking cabin features that comprise capacious cabin, dramatically larger dimmable windows, dynamic LED lighting and larger luggage bins.
“It is a tremendous honour to welcome the 787 Dreamliner to Abu Dhabi,” said James Hogan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways. He further added, “It also marks the official countdown for us, as we prepare to introduce this magnificent aircraft into our fleet from 2014.”
The jet, ZA003, had previously made its way to Australia, New Zealand, Uzbekistan and Morocco before it landed in UAE on June 6, 2012.
