Emirates Airways, which is the largest airline in the Middle East, has announced that it will enhance its capacity and will increase the number of passengers taking flights to Dubai from Glasgow. Dubai-based airline has revealed that it will introduce a 360-seat Boeing 777 airliner on the Glasgow-Dubai route.
The services are scheduled to operate with effect from 1st January, 2013.
The aircraft that has replaced the Airbus A340 is expected to boost the passenger capacity by over 650 seats per week and add an extra 70 tonnes of weekly cargo capacity to and fro.
Emirates was unveiled as an Official Partner of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and the Official Airline of the Queen’s Baton Relay.
The airline’s Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations said, “It is not only the great news for all our customers in Glasgow, but also for the Scottish economy.”
