Air India is all set to commence domestic operation of its 787 Dreamliner passenger jets from today.
The airline will run first flight to Kolkata from Delhi with Dreamliner aircrafts.
The state run Air India will also restarts its global flights from May 22. Currently Air India has six Dreamliners in its fleet and the airline has placed orders for 21 more.
Previously, the aircrafts were grounded when a technical snag was reported in its batteries. The problem has been rectified by a technical team from Boeing, in tandem with engineers of Air India and the Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Air India will start global operations with Dreamliner on May 22 and the airline is planning to start full scale operations with the Dreamliners.
The airline will operate flights to Sydney, Melbourne and Birmingham from August, flights to Rome and Milan from October, and flights to Moscow from early next year.
