Europe’s largest low cost airline Ryanair Holdings PLC announced that it will be opening a third base in Portugal in April 2014, with one based aircraft and four new routes. It is a part of its investment plan of more than USD90 million at Lisbon Airport.
According to airlines’ operator the new base brings its total number of bases to 65. The four new routes to Dole, Manchester, Marseille and Pisa will start at the beginning of April, as part of its summer 2014 schedule. From April, Ryanair will have 124 more weekly flights at Lisbon Airport, with new flights and routes adding roughly to 900,000 passengers per year.
