Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has announced to increase the frequency of flights to Sri Lanka.
From February16, 2014 the airline will operate double daily flights on Abu Dhabi-Colombo route. Currently the airline is operating seven flights per week to Sri Lankan capital.
The route will be served by an A320 aircraft that offers16 seats in Pearl Business Class and 120 seats in Coral Economy Class. The increase in number of flights to Colombo will add over 1,900 seats every week on this route.
The capital of Sri Lanka is an emerging business and trade hub and increased frequency will strengthen airlines’ position in the Sri Lankan market. The addition of flights will also strengthen commercial and cultural relations between Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates.
The increase in number of flights will provide convenient travelling options to business and leisure travellers flying on this route.
