Shannon Airport management has welcomed the announcement of ninth new Ryanair route for its 2014 summer season. Ryanair has confirmed it will operate twice weekly to Poitiers in west central France.
The new destination, which will commence on 4th April , adds to Ryanair’s eight other new routes which include Berlin, Paris, Fuerteventura, Warsaw, Faro, Munich, Nice and Krakow which were announced in late October for 2014 summer season in Shannon. This is the first time that the popular French city has been on the Shannon schedule. Poitiers is a hilltop city and is recognized as one of Franc’s most charming inland tourist destination.
In the words of Neil Pakey Shannon CEO, this is another addition to Shannon’s summer schedule by Ryanair, which really strengthens outbound options for Shannon this year. It is a huge opportunity for tourism interests across this region and connects it with markets that have a huge demand for unique Irish tourism available on the side of the country.
