The national carrier of Bahrain, Gulf Air, has announced that it would be resuming its flights to Iran and Iraq with effect from 20th September, 2012 with an approval from government of Bahrain.
The airline would restart its flights to Baghdad, Erbil, Najaf and Basra in the Gulf country of Iraq and Tehran, Mashhad, Shiraz and Isfahan in Iran progressively between 20th September and 28th October. Gulf Air is awaiting the final approval by the civil aviation authorities of the respective countries.
Gulf Air Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Samer Majali said, “We are extremely glad to restart our operations to the Gulf countries of Iran and Iraq and are sure that this would come as welcoming news for several Iranians and Iraqis living and working in Bahrain.”
The flag carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain would be operating a total of 16 flights per week into Iraq by October end and 18 flights into Iran.
