Libyan-based airline Afriqiyah Airways has recommenced its flight services which are expected to fly three times a week from Gatwick Airport. The African airline will be restarting its flights to Tripoli from Gatwick.
Afriqiyah Airways will now be operating its services thrice a week taking passengers in the air on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays on an Airbus A320.
The Airbus has the capacity to fly 160 passengers on a direct route between the two cities.
The flights will depart from Gatwick Airport at 1230hrs and will touch down in Tripoli at 1700hrs. The flight on its way back to Gatwick Airport from Tripoli will be scheduled to leave at 0830hrs and will be arriving at Gatwick at 1100hrs.
Head of the airline relations at Gatwick Airport, Matthew Wood said, “We are highly pleased to welcome Afriqiyah Airways and its passengers touching down again at Gatwick today and working together hoping to provide what is expected to become a popular route.”
