AirAsia X, which is a long-distance airline in Malaysia, has decided that it will commence flights to Jeddah. The Kuala-Lumpur based airline will introduce flights from the Malaysian capital to King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah.
The scheduled flights are likely to get started from 16th February, 2013.
The airline will operate the new route initially with three flights a week from 16th February, 2013 to 30th April, 2013 and it will enhance the flights to four-times-a-week that will commence from 1st May, 2013 onwards.
Azran Osman-Rani, Chief Executive Officer, AirAsia X, stated, “With Jeddah serving as the gateway to sacred cities of Madinah and Makkah, we are extremely contented that our efficient services will provide more cost-effective travel for our Muslim guests in Malaysia and throughout the region to perform the Holy pilgrimage of Hajj and Umrah.”
He further commented, “Likewise, guests travelling from Saudi Arabia will have the opportunity to travel across our wide network in South East Asia and beyond.”
