Dubai-based low-cost carrier flydubai has launched its inaugural flights to Bucharest, the capital of Romania. The initial flight, FZ797, took off from Dubai Terminal 2 at 0915 hrs and touched down at Henri Coandă International Airport at 1330 hrs.
The flight was welcomed with a water cannon salute and delegation of high ranking Romanian state officials was present to receive the aircraft on the runway.
The Romanian minister of transport and infrastructure, Ovidiu Silaghi joined H.E. Yacub Yousif Al Hosani, the UAE ambassador to Romania and the airline’s Chief Executive Officer, Ghaith Al Ghaith so that they can honour the arrival of the aircraft.
Al Hosani commented, “The beginning of flydubai’s route will fortify the relations with Romania through those who’re travelling for leisure purpose. It would also expand our trade links. We wish the airline constant success in Romania.”
