American Airlines has received its first delivery of 777-300ER airliner from Boeing. The delivery received by the airlines is a part of airline’s modernisation effort and global network strategy.
The Texas-based carrier has become the first U.S. airline to receive the delivery of Boeing 777 and add the same to its fleet. American Airlines is on the verge of deciding that it will allow the aircraft for flights to Sao Paulo from its hub.
The service is scheduled to be operated in early 2013.
The airline’s Chief Financial Officer, Bella Goren said, “With the delivery of Boeing 777 jetliner, it marks a significant milestone in fleet renewal program and is a tangible example of our success in building the new airliner for our passengers and our people.”
She further commented, “Our customers will be provided a new level of comfort and convenience along with enhanced efficiency.”
