Spirit Airlines the low-coat carrier, headquartered in Miramar, Florida has announced new nonstop service between Oakland International Airport (OAK) and Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD) from 1st May 2014. According to Mark Kopczak, Spirit’s Vice President of Network Planning, the airline is pleased to add only nonstop service from Chicago/O’Hare International to the San Francisco Bay Area’s most convenient airport. Oakland Airport is well known by Bay Area travellers for its ease of use and reliability. With this new service to Oakland will become 16th nonstop market served from Chicago/O’Hare.
