British Airways is all set to relax the rule on mobiles and other electronic devices from July 1. Now the passengers will be able to turn on their mobile phone and other gadgets just after the airline has landed.
Now the passengers do not have to wait to switch on their mobile phones on British Airways flights until the aircraft has reached the terminal and stopped.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has revealed that there are no safety implications regarding it. Previously airlines from the other countries have implemented the similar relaxations.
Commonly the passengers are not allowed to use electronic devices on planes while taking off and landing due to supposed threats of interference. With the new rule the mobiles phones and other electronic devices can be switched on once the aircraft is off the runway.
The changed rules will enable business tourists to schedule their business meetings in advance and allow leisure tourists to ask someone to receive them at the airport.
BA has brought this change flights in response to feedback from customers.
