Flydubai, which is Dubai’s low-cost airline, has commenced its flights to Malé, the capital of Maldives. The Maldivian capital is the latest addition to the network operated by flydubai. The airline would now fly five times a week to the picturesque nation.
The inaugural flight FZ561 operated by flydubai took off from Dubai Terminal 2 at 00:35 that touched down at Malé Ibrahim Nasir International Airport at 06:20 local time.
The flight was welcomed with a water cannon salute and delegation of senior Maldivian state officials received the airliner and the airline’s chief executive, Ghaith Al Ghaith on the airstrip.
Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Ghafoor, Maldives minister of tourism, arts and culture, stated, “With the commencement of flydubai’s, our amazing nation has opened to a huge number of tourists and offering reasonably priced deals to Dubai for the residents.”
He further commented, “Through this regular service, we certainly look forward to greet the travellers from various destinations and continuing to grow our tourism industry.”
