EVA Airways, a Taiwan based airline has announced to increase the number of flights to Paris and Vienna from May 16 and Sept. 2, respectively. Now the airline will be operating four flights a week from the current three flights per week.
Since the implementation of visa-exempt privileges granted to Taiwanese passengers by European Union in 2011, the number of Taiwanese passengers has increased by 20 percent.
With option of non-stop flights to Paris and emerging trend of travel to Eastern Europe the number of passengers has increased substantially. Vienna, the Austrian capital serves as a stopover for the passengers flying to Eastern Europe.
Taiwanese make a large share of passengers flying on this route. The airline has also said that the passenger capacity on the two routes has exceeded by 80 percent in 2012.
With the introduction of flights on the two routes the number of seats is scheduled to be increased by 30 percent that will be of great help during peak season.
