Copa Airlines is all set to make Boston its newest U.S. gateway and soon will launch flights to Panama City in this July. The carrier will fly one daily round-trip flight on Boeing 737-800 aircraft. According to Boston Logan Airport officials, the flight will be city’s first-ever regularly scheduled nonstop link to Panama.
In the words of Copa CEO Pedro Heilbron , Copa’s new flight will offer the fastest and most direct way to fly from Boston to Panama and provide Boston –area business and leisure travellers the most convenient connection to many other destinations in Latin America which include Brazil, Colombia, San José, Costa Rica, Lima, Peru, Santiago and Chile.''
With this expansion, Boston will become Copa’s eighth U.S. destination the others include Chicago O'Hare, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York JFK, Orlando and Washington Dulles.
According to Airport officials in Boston prior to Copa’s new route, Boston had been the biggest U.S market without non-stop service to Latin America and will open new opportunities to allow Massachusetts businesses to compete in the 21st century global marketplace.
