American Airlines has recommenced its flight services from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Haneda Airport (HND) in Tokyo. The route was originally introduced last year in February, but the service wasn’t in operations for a long time as the airline decided to suspend in March.
Haneda is the airport that is located at the closest vicinity of the central commercial area of Tokyo, and the flights will place travellers just 20 minutes away from prime downtown business districts.
Almost 70 million customers avail the flight services provided by Haneda airport annually, which makes it the second busiest airport in Asia and the fifth busiest airport in the world.
It is also the Japan’s major hub for domestic flights that provide a broad range of options for connections to and from cities right through the country.
American Airlines and its Pacific joint business partner Japan Airlines (JAL within the oneworld alliance will now offer customers the choice of daily two flights between JFK and Tokyo, one JAL flight to and from Tokyo’s Narita Airport and the restarted American Airlines flight to and from Haneda.
According to Tim Ahern, American’s Vice President, “We are delighted to offer our customer again the pleasure of flying by these extremely conventional flights.” He also said, “we are pleased to team up with our excellence partner JAL when it comes to providing customers two travel choices every day.”
