TAP Portugal’s services will be interrupted due to an Air Traffic Control Strike in the European nation of Portugal on 24th and 25th May 2012.
Speaking of which, TAP Portugal and all other carriers which are flying to and from Portugal look forward to some irregularities to their services and expect possible cancellations.
If you are flying on either of the above mentioned dates, chances are that you may have to stay on the ground as none of the flights would be departing for worldwide destinations.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you in advance for your constant cooperation and understanding.
One of the reasons why the air traffic controllers chose to strike is that they are constantly protesting at the restructuring of services and budget reductions in the country that has been under a brutal attack by recession.
According to Portuguese news agency, Lusa, it was stated that the strike by the air traffic controllers led to the cancellation of at least 20 flights and more 100 flights were delayed.
