Qatar Airways the flag carrier of Qatar launched direct flights to Chengdu City in southwest China on Tuesday.
The airline has announced to operate three weekly round-trip flights between Doha and Chengdu with flight duration of eight hours.
In addition to this, Qatar Airways has also launched a second route linking west China with Doha.
With the launch of this route the Doha has become second destination in the Middle East having direct link to Chengdu. Previously UAE based Etihad Airways launched flights between Abu Dhabi and Chengdu in 2011.
For Qatar Airways Chengdu has a huge market potential as the city holds a great importance in economic development of this region.
