Malaysia Airlines will boost Melbourne to triple daily status with an introduction of third daily flight to Kuala Lumpur later this year. The new service will begin on 21st November and use the airline’s latest Airbus A330 with all modern facilities like angled lie-flat seats, on-demand entertainment, AC sockets for charging your laptops, USB ports for topping up of smart phones and iPods are few among them.
The new MH146 will depart from Melbourne at 8.55 am and will reach Kuala Lumpur at 2.15 pm, with the return leg MH147 running as an overnight flight leaving KL at 7.50 pm to arrive in Melbourne at 6.45 am the next day. The current MH148/149 service will shift from an A330 to a Boeing 777-200.
Melbourne is Australia’s largest market for travel to and from Malaysia, accounting for 32 percent of total travel between Australia and Malaysia with more than 350,000 passengers annually.
