Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will now increase capacity on its daily flight service between Abu Dhabi and Melbourne from December 1st 2013 by introducing a new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
Etihad Airways operates three daily flights from London Heathrow and two daily flights from Manchester to Abu Dhabi, from where passengers can connect to various onward destinations including Melbourne.
The three-class, 328-seat Boeing 777 will replace the current Airbus A340 fleet, delivering 252 more seats per week, which is a 12.3 percent increase between the capital of the state of Victoria and the capital of United Arab Emirates UAE. This service upgrade was announced in Abu Dhabi by James Hogan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, at a business dinner hosted by the Victorian Government which is attended by 400 people.
In the words of Mr. Hogan, Melbourne is one of the best-performing routes in global network and has the highest passenger load factor among the three Australian destinations.
