Etihad Airways has announced that it will launch daily flights to Tokyo with effect from 2nd April, 2013. The Abu Dhabi-based airline, which is a flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates, was the first carrier to launch nonstop five-times-a-week flights to Tokyo’s Narita Airport.
Etihad Airways’ President and Chief Executive Officer, James Hogan firmly believes that the airline’s decision to add daily flights to the Japanese capital will see a further expansion of the close trade, tourism and cultural ties between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Japan.
Mr. Hogan said, “We have been taking a great sense of pride when we say that we were the first Middle Eastern carrier to operate flight services to Tokyo ever since we launched. There has been a high volume of traffic, especially the business travellers who fly to Tokyo.
Etihad Airways plays a crucial role as Japan continues to be its key market and it plays a significant role when it comes to strengthening the ties between the two nations.
The daily flights to the Japanese capital will be operated by a two-class Airbus A330 airliner.
