Etihad Airways, the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates, has announced that it is considerably on the verge of enhancing flights to major Indian cities.
The airline is planning to increase the flights to Kozhikode which will increase the services from three to seven a week. The flight services will operate with effect from 1st January, 2013. Colombo, which is the capital of Sri Lanka, will also be catered to by flights to be operated on a daily basis.
The flights seem to enhance the services from four to seven per week. The flights with Etihad Airways will be operated from 2nd January next year.
Etihad Airways’ President and Chief Executive Officer, James Hogan commented, “India and Sri Lanka are significant destinations for us due to the fact that it has strong local demand and flourishing traffic beyond the UAE capital to numerous prime destinations.”
He further added, “Colombo and Kozhikode are the cities that are growing rapidly which serve as major business and trade hubs with several inhabitants settled and working in the Gulf region.
