The largest carrier of Puerto Rico, JetBlue Airways has introduced its new nonstop “capital-to-capital” flights to Puerto Rico. The airline was granted a pair of beyond-perimeter slot exemptions from the Department of Transportation of the US to introduce this long-haul flight in May.
The airline’s flights are the nonstop flight services between D.C.’s downtown airport and San Juan. The route is considered to be the 14th destination from San Juan and would be operating from Terminal A at the Luis Muñoz MarÃn International Airport.
Senior Vice President of government affairs and associate general counsel at JetBue, Rob Land said, “The new flight represents sustained growth of the airlines at National Airport. It has grown from nine flights way back in 2010 to 18 daily nonstop departures.”
We strive to be the leading U.S. hub in the Caribbean as San Juan’s new capital-to-capital direct service on the airlines is a prime step in providing travellers new and economical fare options that would give a boost as the finest destination for leisure and business, as stated by Puerto Rico governor, Luis Fortuño.
