Manila-based Cebu Pacific Air, which is the largest flag carrier of Philippines, will offer internets services to its passengers on board with OnAir. Those passengers flying in A330 fleet will be able to acquire an access to Wi-Fi in the beginning of 2013.
The airline is loaded with another option to mount Wi-Fi for its short-haul flights on a fleet of A320 aircraft.
Cebu Pacific will be able to provide non-stop flights to U.S. within an 11-hour flight range that also comprises the Middle East, Australia and parts of Europe.
With OnAir’s internet service, the passengers aboard will have a privilege to use the internet and will also be able to make calls with the help of Voice Over IP applications.
Passengers can gain an access to these services on their personal electronic devices such as Android phones and tablets, iPhone, iPad, Blackberry and laptops. Manila-based Cebu Pacific will be the first low cost carrier in South East Asia operating on long-haul routes.
OnAir’s CEO, Ian Dawkins said, “It makes an apparent option for the inflight connectivity for the passengers’ convenience as Manila-based airline focuses on social media. In this way, the travellers will stay connected during the course of their flight and it makes a viable option for the airline to reach its passengers.
