Malindo Air, a Malaysia based airline, is all set to launch direct flights to Chittagong route from January 16 as part of its expansion strategy.
Malindo Air will operate three direct flights between Chittagong and Kuala Lumpur on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Chittagong also referred as the commercial capital of Bangladesh, is airlines’ second destination in Bangladesh after Dhaka.
The airline has said that there is a huge socio- economic opportunity in Chittagong which is yet to be untapped.
With the launch of direct flights between Chittagong and Kuala Lumpur, Chittagong's business and leisure travellers would have direct access to the east and better connectivity to destinations like Jakarta and Bail in Indonesia.
The number of passengers travelling to Malaysia from Bangladesh has increased significantly in recent years.
