This year the festival is organized between 26th April 2016 to 8th May 2016 at Hampyeong Expo Park, Hampyeong, Jeollanam-do. The festival is quite popular among kids as they can watch 50,000 butterflies from 70 species flying through in the air. The butterfly exhibition showcases how the butterfly develops from larva, pupa into the imago. During the festival period the whole town of Hampyeong is a “veritable butterfly town” covered with butterfly-themed lights and decorations.
