Those who
love camping and keep up to date with developments in the camping world are
probably aware of the famous stars who share their passion. However, for those
of you who aren’t aware, there are numerous celebrities that love caravan
holidays and frequently go camping. Below you will find a list of celebrities
opting for caravan breaks, caravan holidays or caravan ownership. Most of them
are – or at least were – registered to The Caravan Club.
- Jay Z: The American rapper – also record producer, entrepreneur and occasional actor – and his wife Beyonce like to go camping.
- Chris Martin: The singer of the band Coldplay, married to Gwyneth Paltrow, likes camping as well. Apparently he used to go camping with Jay Z and their respective wives. Moreover his father owned Martin Caravans until 1999.
- Jade Nash: The finalist of The Apprentice spent her childhood in the father’s holiday park. She revelled that she grew up helping her parents in the campsite and that this shaped who she is today.
- Helen Mirren: The popular actress is a member of The Caravan Club and owns a caravan. According to the association, Dame Helen Mirren regularly takes her motorhome on the roads to re-energise, get away from the city life and to have time to herself.
- Billie Piper: The actress is also a member of the Caravan Club. Moreover we know she loves camping thanks to the interview conducted by her first boyfriend, David Price, who confessed to having sex with her in a caravan.
- Mark Owen: The Take That singer simply loves camping and uses to assist to several exhibitions and caravan events. Moreover he is a big fan of The Caravan Club. He once said: “I love caravans. They are great to take to rock festivals, as you will know if you have ever seen the toilet facilities there.”
- Nell McAndrew: The model has been a member of the Caravan Club since 2007 and really enjoys caravanning. She believes that this kind of activity will become more and more popular due to the flexible nature and the possibility to go wherever you like.
- Gary Numan: The pioneer of electronic music revealed to the Quietus online music publication that he has loved camping since he was a child, when he enjoyed this type of holiday with his parents.
- Patsy Palmer: The actress confessed her passion for the mobile holiday home. Her parents had always had a caravan and brought her hop-picking, which she now enjoys doing with her three children. She also bought her mother a fixed caravan in Sheerness for Mother’s Day. She affirmed “I would pick a five-star hotel and a sun-lounger over a caravan, but the reason I carry on doing it is that the children absolutely love it.”
- Jamie Oliver: He is a member of the Caravan Club and of course loves camping. He spent thousands of pounds to convert a 1950’s VW bus into a modern mobile home, with a cutting-edge kitchen included. He is also involved in “The Big Festival” with his Jamie Oliver’s Better Food Foundation. The festival puts together live music, good food, fun and games for everybody and, of course, a camping field!
